Senior Finance Specialist

Alibaba Group is seeking a Senior Financial Specialist to strengthen financial reporting, control, and analysis within the Finance team.

Working closely with Accounting, FP&A, Product, and business teams, this role turns financial data into reliable reports, actionable analysis, and stronger financial controls, while ensuring compliance with Iranian accounting and tax regulations.

Responsiblities

• Prepare and analyze periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) and management reports to support decision-making.
• Ensure accurate recording of accounting entries and full compliance with Iranian accounting standards.
• Manage statutory obligations, including VAT, seasonal reports, payroll tax, insurance, legal books, and fixed-asset records.
• Reconcile bank accounts, payment gateways, and high-volume online transactions on a daily and periodic basis.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, and analyze variances against budget to highlight risks and opportunities.
• Monitor and analyze cash flow, providing clear reporting and recommendations to management.
• Identify cost-optimization opportunities and translate financial insights into actionable initiatives.
• Review, document, and improve financial processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors throughout the audit process.
• Partner with Product, Operations, FP&A, and Performance Marketing teams to align financial reporting with business needs.
• Leverage BI and AI tools to improve reporting, reconciliation, and finance workflows.

Requirements

•  4–6 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, or Financial Reporting, preferably in e-commerce, fintech, or a high-transaction environment.
• Strong command of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and Iranian tax and statutory regulations (VAT, payroll, insurance, legal books).
• Hands-on experience with Iranian financial/ERP software such as Rahkaran or Sepidar.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including financial modeling; familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI), GA4, or SQL is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
• Experience with reconciliation of online payments and multiple revenue channels is a strong advantage.
• Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Familiarity with AI tools for finance workflows, including reporting and data analysis.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA) are a plus.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally.
